Winter weather alert for Wednesday, Jan. 4: Temporary move to eLearning, after-school/evening activities canceled

Winter weather alert for Wednesday, Jan. 4: Temporary move to eLearning, after-school/evening activities canceled

Our district is temporarily moving to eLearning today, Wednesday, Jan. 4, because of heavy snowfall yesterday, snowfall overnight and freezing rain; several roads are icy and unplowed, and additional snow is forecasted throughout the day. This means students, early childhood through grade 12, will stay home and use their school-provided device to learn. Your child’s teacher(s) will connect with your family on further details soon.

District programming has been canceled as part of the temporary move to eLearning. This includes Kidstop and Four Star Express school-age care and all after-school/evening activities.

Note: These changes will not impact 279Online’s school day. Students and staff will continue their work as planned.

Unless notified otherwise, students will be expected to attend school in person tomorrow as originally planned. Stay tuned to district279.org for the latest information. Thank you for your understanding and flexibility with this news.
