Fitness, fun & academic fundamentals

At Fair Oaks Elementary, we understand the important role nutrition and physical activity play in the academic success of our students. Our scholars participate in Fuel Up to Play 60, a program run by the NFL and the National Dairy Council, by leading active recess games, making healthy snacks for taste tests, and more. They also participate in fun movement activities during the day to keep their brains sharp and their bodies active.

Thanks to a grant from the Minnesota Department of Education and the US Department of Agriculture, each of our students receives a fruit or vegetable snack two times a week. Through this initiative, students are exposed to a greater variety of healthy food that will make a lifelong difference in their diets and overall well-being.
